My name
is Doug Poat, I live on Long Island in NY with my
wife and four
children. Years ago I
worked as a heliarc welder in a major aircraft manufacturer
called Grumman Aerospace. When I wasn’t welding aircraft parts I kept
myself busy by making jewelry from stainless steel welding rods. I
really enjoyed the creativity of making detailed things and working
with my hands. After I left that job, I couldn't seem to find a
creative outlet that would satisfy me. I was introduced to the scroll
saw and what it was capable of doing and realized I had to get one.
While researching the topic I came across the web site I mentioned on
the Home page and here and I was hooked. It had such a wealth of information
about the scroll saw and where to purchase supplies. The
site, http://www.scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com
is owned by Steve Good, which
also features his incredible Free Pattern Catalog where you will find
over six hundred gift
ideas. It makes no difference what
the project is, I give each and everyone the same intense effort. I
make each piece as if it is going on my own shelf like a trophy. This
way I can make sure every piece comes out good.
